Wow, nice work! I think I get it... The fools have gained control of things by winning some elaborate game - they were smart enough to win it, but not smart enough to realize the horrible consequences of their victory. So, no climate change action leads to rising sea levels, destroying the world of all. The mask symbolizes the fools hiding their true motives. The flames that are about to engulf white's king symbolize a warming earth. The dice symbolizing peoples' willingness to chance that the warming won't really be serious or won't affect them if it is. The multi-dimensional nature of the problem comes through, too. I'm not sure about the gold bishop, though... Or, maybe this has noting to do with politics or the environment at all, but this is what I think when I look at this. Nice!
I love the symbolism. With the addition of the earth, I immediately noticed the north pole and the lack of ice in the ocean. It helps connect the idea of the flood. This and all of your work is amazing and beautiful.
I can't even begin to comprehend this, and it's gorgeous.
It feels like I'm trapped and waiting for someone... not someone important, just an acquaintance. It also feels like if I leave them behind, I'm leaving everyone behind. But the means to run away is right in front of me, too. I feel like the choice has little personal weight, but huge moral consequences.
Thanks for invoking this bizarre feeling. It's oddly soothing and welcoming.
